I grew up in Deerfield, New Hampshire. My mom and dad raised my younger sister and me at the end of a dirt road with a flock of chickens. In high school I played a lot of soccer and basketball, babysat and worked for after school programs in Manchester. I took a year break to travel and work before college and taught English to kindergartners in Mexico, among other things. I received my bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 2003 from the University of Chicago. While I was in Chicago I was a part time elementary Spanish teacher’s aide in the Chicago Public School system. After graduating I taught preschool for five years in Seattle and Fort Yukon, Alaska. In 2008 I moved back to New England to attend the Upper Valley Educator Institute. In 2010 I completed my M. Ed through New England College. I live with my husband, Keith, in Tunbridge where I spend a lot of time on the tractor mowing and plowing, and in our vegetable and flower gardens. We are expecting our first child in October.
I feel very fortunate to be starting a sixth year in kindergarten at OQS. This is a wonderful school with a terrific staff and great parents…if you are just starting with us, you’ve hit the jackpot…if I do say so myself!
I look forward to getting to know you and your families this year. Please always feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, thoughts or interest in volunteering.
OQS is moving most communication to email and the web. My newsletters will be posted here, on the website. I would also like to be able to communicate with you by email. If you have not already provided it, please send me a note with the best email address at which to reach you…or send me an email and I’ll add you to my contacts.
