This Friday we were able to get together with our 3rd grade buddy class!
We read a story about firefighters which highlighted paying it forward and being thankful for what we have.
After the story, we connected the idea of being thankful to the early settlers who learned how to grow their own food from the Native Americans who were already living from the land when the settlers arrived. We made “Indian corn” or “flint corn” which was grown and enjoyed in the harvest. We cut out the corn cobs and the husks from paper and then used paint dots to create the colorful kernels.
